Garden Route
A beautiful stretch of South Africa that offers a wonderful mix of mountain hideaways, ancient forests and the opportunity for beach holidays.
Garden Route Safaris
The Garden Route stretches from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth and offers a mix of golf courses, ancient forests, secluded artists’ communities, mountain hideaways and beach escapes.
While the scenery is spectacular, it’s the hidden gems that are the real allure of the Garden Route where ancient woodcutter clans, fishermen, artists and top chefs have all found their niches. As well as sightseeing, there are plenty of outdoor activities, both on land and at the coast.
The best way to explore the Garden Route is by car. Starting from Cape Town, visit the winelands around Franschhoek and onto De Hoop Nature Reserve for whale watching, or take the inland route via Oudtshoorn to enjoy the beautiful mountains. Knysna offers boating and cycling and Plettenberg Bay is good for swimming and hiking. You can end your Garden Route trip by staying in a private game reserve near Port Elizabeth.
