This six day expedition will send you into beautiful un-spoilt wilderness of Svalbard, crossing frozen mountain trails, fjords and onto firm sea ice. This trip is ideal for fit and hardy adventurers who are passionate about photographing and viewing the beautiful Arctic wilderness.
This special trip ventures into polar wilderness in the company of one of the world’s top Arctic wildlife filming guides with a luxury tented camp, private expedition chef and the same safety logistics and guide expertise used by the famous BBC natural history unit.
This is a unique experience that we have tested and refined over many years. Here you will truly unplug from civilisation and experience life in the Arctic in the company of polar experts in comfort and style.

Longyearbyen (1 Night)

Longyearbyen
Arriving into the High Arctic airport of Longyearbyen, you will be met by our team and transferred to your lodge for a good night’s sleep.
The next morning after a hearty breakfast you will transfer to our expedition logistics base. Here you will meet your guide, learn about the forthcoming days adventures and receive a full safety briefing.
You will then be kitted up in polar clothing, repack your kit, sleds and equipment and head straight off on your multi-night polar bear adventure into the remote wilderness of Eastern Svalbard.
Svalbard: East Coast (3 Nights)
3 Nights
Svalbard: East Coast
For the first few hours you will travel over 100kms on snow-machine trails towards your private expedition base camp along the stunning east coast, the kingdom of polar bears.
When you arrive at the camp the tents will be warm, and refreshments await. Dinner will be served in the dining tent.
From your private camp you will settle into an exciting and varied routine of discovery. Weather plays an important role in your expedition plans and your guides are expert in respecting it; sometimes the daily routine and route might change from day to day.
Travelling gently through this treeless winter landscape, leaving only footprints in the snow and snow-machine trails is a wonderful experience.
King of the Arctic
As per Svalbard wildlife regulations, we never actively track polar bears. Ours is a respectful and calm approach to witnessing any encounter with this majestic predator from a safe distance. If you are dedicated and a bit lucky it is our experience that Svalbard’s most famous inhabitant might reveal itself in all its splendour.
Exploring polar wilderness
You will cross the beautiful Billefjorden, visit the desolate ghost town of Pyramiden, explore ice caves, cross vast mountain ranges and sections of stable sea ice and break fresh trail in search of the Svalbard’s wildlife. You will also have the opportunity to snow-shoe, ski and spot ‘sval-rein’, the hardy, compact reindeer of Arctic Svalbard, and spot fur seals’ breathing holes. The ice-pack acts as nature’s daily telegraph; making spotting tracks of passing wildlife possible.
